This union between man and bull led to the creation of the Minotaur, a creature that was half man half bull. The invention was placed in the fields where the bull grazed, and the princess got what she wished for. He made a wooden cow, hollowed out and decorated with the skin of a cow. With reluctance Daedalus found a way to trick the bull into mating with Pasiphae. In the ancient world of Greece this is one of the most despicable acts imaginable. Pasiphae now being unable to seduce this bull, turned to Daedalus for assistance. Whereafter Poseidon punished King Minos by making his wife fall in love with that bull. However, this bull had to be sacrificed, which King Minos refused to do. A bull that Poseidon gave King Minos after he asked for a sign of divine favour. One day the wife of Minos came to seek the help of Daedalus. He found it with a woman called Naukrate, a slave at the time, and Icarus was welcomed to the world shortly after. Skilled as he was, Daedalus created lifelike toys for the children, created a mighty fleet that controlled the oceans and he continually challenged human limitations left and right.Īs Daedalus established his place in the court of King Minos, he began searching for love.
